Whitebrush, also called beebrush, is a drought-adapted shrub native to Texas and the wider Southwest. Its long warm-season bloom supports bees, butterflies, birds, and other nectar-feeding wildlife, making the living plant as important to NeuroLeaf as the material we harvest from it.

Ethnobotanical Record

Aloysia gratissima has a long medicinal tradition elsewhere in its native range, particularly in South America, where preparations have historically been used for digestive and respiratory complaints. Modern phytochemical research has identified compounds including verbascoside, rutin, and aromatic terpenes and has explored a range of biological activities, but that research does not establish this capsule as a treatment for any condition.

Our Harvest

We gather Whitebrush by hand in small batches from our regenerative cultivation program and responsibly managed stands. Leaves and blossoms can be collected without removing the whole plant, while seed and propagative material are retained for future stands. The capsule ingredient is shade-dried Whitebrush leaf material.
